Pop used to live in Woodford Green, and when i was a young lad, i think about 10 i used to continuously knock on the poor fuckers door, even on Sunday's for an autograph, fuck knows how many i needed, so i got to know him, and never once did he ever moan or looked pissed off, despite the fact he probably cursed me when he closed the front door, always had time for us kids, a lovely bloke. Happy Birthday Pop Robson

Happy Birthday goal scoring hero
I've got both his debuts programmes signed by him, when you watch that West Ham 70s DVD it's like he scored every goal

Iirc correctly, his father-in-law was a table-tennis coach, and gave him training to sharpen his reactions.
It certainly worked

Pop's father-in-law ( Lennie Heppell) was a former dance champion who then became a dance teacher. He did indeed teach Pop dance exercises to improve his game.

Geep, I heard he took ballet lessons to help with balance?
In any case, my favourite WHU striker and the best player England never had
HAPPY BIRTHDAY POP

Great player. Marvellous goal v Wrexham I recall. Important goals that kept us from relegation in 1970's.
Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop Robson, Score a little goal for me...
Happy birthday Bryan.

Sunderland fans called him the Bald Assassin, which I think is rather apt

I remember seeing the Bald Assassin at UP, when him and Wyn Davies was the Mags strike force and thinking to myself, I would love to see him, in our side
I'd like to think God heard my little prayer

One of the main reasons I carried on supporting the club when I look back as a 12 year old kid travelling up from South East London standing on an orange box to see over the wall down the front of the west side for my first game at UP, we beat the saints 4-3 and Pop got a hatrick. Fantastic striker! I was hooked after my first game and was back week after week, then home and away.

Who did he leave us for (mid 70's) before he came back (78?) ... was that S'land or Newcastle?
